New Name, Familiar Experience, Better Solution: Meet Workspace Browser Extension

Devolutions has consolidated its Workspace and Devolutions Web Login tools into a single streamlined entity known as Devolutions Workspace, offering a unified solution for improved efficiency and productivity.

Hello! My name is Laurence Cadieux, and I’m a Communication Coordinnator here at Devolutions. Great news! We have unified Workspace and Devolutions Web Login under one name: Devolutions Workspace.

About the Tools

For those who are new to our community, here’s a summary of what Workspace and Devolutions Web Login will continue to offer users, but under new names:

  • Workspace Application (formerly Workspace) is our free mobile (iOS and Android) and desktop (Windows and Mac) application that brings together Authenticator, Devolutions Hub Business, Devolutions Hub Personal, and Devolutions Server into a single, centralized, cloud-based location. What’s more, users who lose network connectivity can launch read-only mode to access important credentials and other sensitive information. Workspace Application is the perfect companion tool for simplified and streamlined access and management.

  • Workspace Browser Extension (formerly Devolutions Web Login) is our free, easy-to-install browser plugin (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Opera). Used in conjunction with Remote Desktop Manager, Devolutions Server, and Devolutions Hub, this plugin enables users to securely inject passwords into websites using credentials stored in their vaults. It allows sysadmins to manage passwords better, without hindering user productivity.

Why the Change?

The reason for this change is simple. Many of our users relied on both Workspace and Devolutions Web Login to improve efficiency, productivity, and governance when using various Devolutions solutions. Combining them means that our users only have to manage and access one companion tool instead of two. This also helps sharpen our focus regarding additions, improvements, and integrations going forward.

What to Expect

Some users may not see changes right away, as updates make their way to web browser extension stores. Once the changes are live, users can expect to see new names and logos for the Devolutions Workspace tools:
