As Devolutions’ marketing coordinator, I’m in charge of maintaining our social media properties, such as Facebook and LinkedIn. I’m also responsible for establishing, maintaining and developing relationships within and beyond the Remote Desktop Manager community. I’ve always worked and participated in community projects that reflect causes that are very important to me, such as food safety, environmental protection and social inclusion. With my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Communications, I’ve led fundraising and awareness campaigns for different organizations. I also write about the environment and technology for the blog “Growing Without Borders”, which is an organization dedicated to providing computers and IT support to disadvantaged communities.

Meet our New Mac Developer: Mathieu Morissette

Today, it’s my pleasure to welcome our new Mac developer Mathieu Morissette to the Devolutions family. I recently had the chance to chat with Mathieu and ask him some “get to know you” questions:

Can you tell me a bit about your background?

I’m finishing my degree in computer science in Cegep de Joliette, which is not far from the Devolutions head office. In fact, my work here is the final step in getting my degree! For the past three years, I’ve been working at the Lavaltrie public library and helping people use computers. I’ve also been volunteering at the library every Monday and Thursday for the past three years teaching senior citizens how to use computers.

How did you meet our CEO David?

I met David for the first time when I first visited the company as part of my college internship. He was very friendly and welcoming!

What were your first impressions of working at Devolutions?

It’s awesome! I really like the environment and everyone seems happy to work here.

What does your job involve? What tools do you use?

Right now, I’m working on the Mac version of Remote Desktop Manager. As for tools, I mainly use XCode and Xamarin.

What are some of your hobbies?

I’m a pretty curious guy, and so I love doing a lot of things. I love programming for fun, astronomy, playing video games, gardening and electronics.

What invention do you wish you had created?

I wish I had created the computer mouse. Can you imagine where we’d be without it?

Would you like to say something to our community?

I’m excited to be here, and am looking forward to making the Mac version of Remote Desktop Manager even better for IT pros around the world.
