Our first release of the year for Devolutions Gateway, version 2025.1, brings a host of exciting new features and improvements designed to enhance management and usability. Below, we'll explore how these new features benefit your workflow (to see all updates, refer to the release notes).

View system disk space available for Devolutions Gateway in DVLS, Hub, and RDM

Recordings are essential to knowing what happened and when. Ensure you have enough storage space when viewing Gateway instances in the Devolutions Server (DVLS) and Devolutions Hub web interfaces and now in Remote Desktop Manager (RDM).

Centralize Devolutions Gateway instance management in DVLS and RDM

Manage updates to your Devolutions Gateways from one location with centralized DVLS Gateway instance management. Update directly to the latest version or to a specific version. You can also bulk upgrade Gateways through the Bulk Update toggle.

Note: The update functionality now requires installing the Devolutions Agent on the system. Install the latest release MSI in the format DevolutionsAgent-x86_64-VERSION.msi (EXE support will be coming later). Select the Devolutions Gateway Updater option during the Devolutions Agent installation service.

Connect through Devolutions Gateway dynamically in RDM

If you need to connect quickly to a system protected behind a Devolutions Gateway instance, use the quick connect toolbar at the top of RDM or open the quick connect window (Ctrl+Alt+Q by default) to open a Gateway-proxied connection without creating an entry.

Audit and troubleshoot with session shadowing support

Solving a problem is easy when you can observe what's going on. With Gateway session shadowing support, you can watch an in-progress session recording to assist or audit in-process work. Navigate to the recording tab of an entry to see a pulsing icon of an in-progress recording, and click to watch in real-time.

Fully configure managed Gateway instances in RDM

Built directly into RDM, managed Devolutions Gateway instances can be configured for Devolutions Server and Hub data sources. View and manage current sessions, logs, and configurations as needed.

Configure alternate Devolutions Gateway instances as fallbacks

Alternate Gateway support in RDM ensures you can always connect! There is no need to run a Devolutions Gateway farm: use alternate Gateways to manually select specific fallbacks for a connection.

About Devolutions Gateway

Devolutions Gateway offers a modern alternative to legacy VPNs by only forwarding the traffic of the connecting service after authentication and authorization, enhancing both performance and scalability. Gateway ensures native performance while securely relaying RDP, VNC, ARD, SSH, Telnet, PowerShell, and web protocols, safeguarding internal resources from external access.

This lightweight service, installable on Windows or Linux, eliminates the hassle of deploying agents to every target system. Devolutions Gateway integrates seamlessly with Devolutions Server, Devolutions Hub, and Remote Desktop Manager (RDM) for a complete remote connection solution.

The newly released standalone Devolutions Gateway provides a free alternative to solutions like Apache Guacamole through an easy-to-install service allowing fast web-based access to internal resources. For team integration, Devolutions Gateway can be combined with Devolutions Server or Hub and Remote Desktop Manager for authorized just-in-time external access to resources in segmented networks.
