A couple of weeks ago, the one-and-only Santa Cloud paid a visit to Devolutions HQ. For those who are unfamiliar with this seasonal superstar, Santa Cloud — who is a distant cousin of Santa Claus — delivers cool technology to all of the good IT pros around the world during the holidays.
Well, after enjoying some milk and cookies (actually it was beer and pizza), Santa Cloud gathered up the responses to our December poll question, which asked: What’s on your “wish list” for Remote Desktop Manager and Devolutions PAM in 2025?
We will have to wait and see if Santa Cloud is going to make your wishes come true. For now, let’s look at what you are hoping to see and experience in the months ahead.
Wishes for Remote Desktop Manager
Trusted by nearly a million IT pros around the world, Remote Desktop Manager centralizes all remote connections on a single platform that is securely shared between users and across the entire team.
To make things clearer (Santa Cloud hates clutter!), we organized the wishes for Remote Desktop Manager into four categories: integrations, functionality/UX/UI, vaults, and user support. Entries with a * were noted multiple times.
Integrations
- Rest API along with documentation and examples.*
- More PAM account integration with remote tools.*
- Integration for System Center - Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM)
- Deeper and more automated integrations with IT Service Management (ITSM) tools like ServiceNow, Jira, and Zendesk.
- Support for VS Code entry with a context option to open with/edit supported entries.
Functionality/UX/UI
- Remote mobile connection to Android and iOS.*
- More PowerShell functionality with documentation and examples.*
- Better data source support for Remote Desktop Manager free edition.
- Increased animation speeds
- Terminator or Linux-like console.
- Easier multi-tab/multiwindow functionality.
Vaults
- Enabling multiple vaults to be loaded in memory concurrently, streamlining access across all vaults without delays or manual switching.*
- Support for linking credentials from external vaults, providing seamless integration with any background loaded entries for increased flexibility and security.*
- Support for managing favorites across multiple vaults without needing to switch the active vault (favorites should be accessible from any vault context to enhance efficiency).*
- Implement automatic multi-vault search capability, allowing users to locate entries across all loaded vaults using any specified criteria without extra steps.*
- Add scheduled vault export option (backups) when using Hub Personal in Remote Desktop Manager free edition.
User support
- Introduce an AI-powered assistant that provides real-time suggestions, anomaly detection, and optimization tips for remote sessions.
- Provide easier access to manuals and training materials, and add more in-depth documentation and how-to’s related to macros, automations, and so on (see note below).

Devolutions PAM
Devolutions PAM is our robust, easy-to-deploy, and affordable privileged access management solution that balances productivity and security. It is currently available as a full-featured module in Devolutions Server (DVLS), and as a beta module in Devolutions Hub.
Here is what’s on your Devolutions PAM wish list for 2025:
- Support for session (RDP) check-out as a reader and have a process to "Request" password view with approval chain, so that this is controlled by admins, and not by business users.
- Set permissions at the PAM folder level and apply inherited settings on the PAM accounts below (like access-based enumeration in Windows).
- JIT group configuration at the PAM account level (this is already available for JIT privilege sets and is great!).
- Enhanced scan configuration and improvements for SSH provider scans.
- Enhanced integration with AnyIdentity (see note below).
The release of Devolutions Server 2024.3 introduced new flexibility for managing AnyIdentity provider scripts, allowing them to be executed remotely via a rewritten WinRM stack and Devolutions Gateway, providing secure, versatile options for privileged account management with Devolutions PAM across various environments. The winners (part 1)
To start with, you’re all winners because you’re brilliant IT pros who play a crucial role in the stability, success, and even the long-term survival of your organization. We know that in 2025 you will continue defending the thin geeky line that separates clarity from chaos. We are thrilled to be part of your team, and dedicated to supporting you every step of the way.
And we aren’t the only ones who feel this way. Santa Cloud was VERY impressed with your wishes for Remote Desktop Manager and Devolutions PAM. He said that he will “see what he can do” in the months ahead. He didn’t make any promises, but let’s just say we’re hoping that he returns to Devolutions HQ soon with some updates.
The winners (part 2)
Now, let’s reveal the year’s first randomly-selected poll participants who have each won a $25 Amazon gift card. Congratulations Daryl Junilla and Disqusat! Please email asguerin@devolutions.net to claim your prize.
Again, thank you to everyone who participated in the December poll, and making it one of the most interesting and enjoyable ever!
