Devolutions Force: Outage insights and next steps

We are addressing a significant service disruption affecting the Devolutions Force, hosted by Influitive, a third-party platform. We are working closely with Influitive to restore access and functionalities, and maintaining transparency and communication with our community throughout the process.

Laurence Cadieux

Hello! My name is Laurence Cadieux, and I’m a Communication Coordinnator here at Devolutions. My role includes overseeing the content strategy and development of our blog, managing the content and communication for our VIP advocate platform “Devolutions Force,” and working closely with our PR partners around the world. I also handle our off-site content opportunities (magazines, journals, newspapers, etc.). Academically, I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing. When I’m not working, I sing in a band, and I enjoy watching my favorite movies again and again. I also love cooking, and during the pandemic, I became a bread expert — I can now bake the most amazing key lime pie on earth (if I do say so myself!). Plus, I recently discovered LEGO and there is no turning back — I’m hooked! I’m always happy to help, and you can reach me directly at lcadieux@devolutions.net.

Dear valued Devolutions Force advocates,

We are reaching out to provide an update on the service disruption that has affected the Devolutions Force, which is hosted by a third-party platform, Influitive. Since Wednesday, March 13, we have faced a significant challenge due to an unexpected outage after Influitive updated their platform. We understand the inconvenience this has caused and want to assure you that we’ve been working relentlessly with Influitive’s support team to resolve the issue.

What happened, and our immediate actions

  • On Wednesday morning, users attempting to sign in to the Devolutions Force were met with a 504 error message (indicating a gateway timeout error). Influitive had updated their platform, which inadvertently caused the Devolutions Force to become completely inaccessible.
  • That same morning, we promptly opened a ticket with Influitive's support team to diagnose the issue.
  • The days following, our team continued to work closely with Influitive’s support staff to restore access to the Devolutions Force. Despite our efforts to obtain a clear timeline for resolution, specific information regarding when the Force would be fully restored could not be provided by Influitive's support team.
  • One week later, access to the Force was restored.

Current status

The Devolutions Force is up and running. However, please be aware that there might still be some lingering issues with the platform. We encourage you to message us at team@devolutions.net if you come across any bugs, or if you have any concerns. We're committed to providing the best possible service and we appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

Our commitment to you

Rest assured that we share your frustration and are not happy with how disruptive this outage has been. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Now that the Force is accessible and functioning again, we’re cautiously optimistic and working diligently with Influitive to ensure that this service is fully restored. Your satisfaction and success are paramount to us, and we are committed to transparency and communication throughout this process.

Thank you for your continued trust and support.

The Devolutions Team
