[NEWS] The Devolutions State of IT Security in SMBs in 2022-2023 Is On the Way

Laurence Cadieux

Hello! My name is Laurence Cadieux, and I’m a Communication Coordinnator here at Devolutions. My role includes overseeing the content strategy and development of our blog, managing the content and communication for our VIP advocate platform “Devolutions Force,” and working closely with our PR partners around the world. I also handle our off-site content opportunities (magazines, journals, newspapers, etc.). Academically, I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing. When I’m not working, I sing in a band, and I enjoy watching my favorite movies again and again. I also love cooking, and during the pandemic, I became a bread expert — I can now bake the most amazing key lime pie on earth (if I do say so myself!). Plus, I recently discovered LEGO and there is no turning back — I’m hooked! I’m always happy to help, and you can reach me directly at lcadieux@devolutions.net.

We are delighted to announce that the Devolutions State of IT Security Survey in 2022-2023 is currently in the final stages, and will be ready to launch in the next few weeks!

About the Survey

This is the third year in a row that we are asking IT professionals around the world to share their experiences and insights on key topics including:

  • IT Security Management
  • Endpoint Security
  • Privileged Access Management
  • Cybersecurity
  • Remote Access Management

IT professionals who participate in the survey will be given early access to the Report, which we plan on releasing in September/October 2022. Here are some highlights from last year’s edition:

  • 72% of SMBs are more concerned about cybersecurity now compared to a year ago.
  • The 3 cyberthreats that SMBs are most concerned about are: ransomware, phishing, and malware.
  • 52% of SMBs have experienced a cyberattack in the last year — and 10% have experienced more than 10 cyberattacks.
  • Just 13% of SMBs have a fully deployed PAM solution in place.

How have things changed this year, and what do IT professionals predict for the road ahead? The Report will dive into the details and paint a realistic picture of what’s really happening on the IT security landscape: the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Plus, we will be randomly selecting survey participants to win prizes. More details to come!

What’s NEW

If you are familiar with our previous surveys, then you may have noticed an important change this year: Instead of focusing primarily on cybersecurity, we are taking a broader approach to cover core IT security concepts such as endpoint security and remote access management.

Cybersecurity is still an important part of the survey, because this is definitely a top-of-mind concern for SMBs. However, this broader approach will allow us to get a larger picture of the overall IT security-related challenges, issues, and priorities that SMBs are facing.

Stay Tuned

The survey is launching soon. Please stay tuned for updates. We look forward to your input!
