Breaking change in VMWare’s PowerCLI

New Update for VWWARE
Maurice Côté

Still a software developer at heart, I am the products VP at Devolutions, tasked with helping our corporate customers in using our products efficiently, and making sure that our products fulfill their needs by monitoring our workspace in the IT industry. I have worked many years in the Medical Software field, and was 'that' Dev who was always taking care of the network infrastructure because... well... we could not afford to hire an IT guy. This makes me especially in tune with the business requirements of IT staff. Some would say I know just enough to be dangerous, but that's another story...

Hello RDMers!

There has been a breaking change in VMware’s PowerCLI v5.5 R2 that forced us to change the version of the PowerCLI that we were compiled against. This means that users of our latest version (from beta 9.4 and above) will need to update their PowerCLI to v5.5 R2 so we can interface with the proper library.

For users that cannot upgrade to the latest version of PowerCLI, we are hosting an older version of our library that will work with previous versions of the PowerCLI. It’s a drop-in replacement that you use to overwrite our newer version.

Please consult our troubleshooting topic at http://help.remotedesktopmanager.com/troubleshooting_vmware.htm for further details and a detailed procedure.

As always, comment below or use our forums to provide us with feedback on this change.
