Do you know that great Green Day song “Wake Me Up When September Ends”? Well, September can be rough, but many IT pros would prefer to sleep through October, because this can be a pretty stressful month.
This is because many organizations want to end the year on a high note by reaching key milestones and achieving key objectives — including many that were put on pause during the summer when half the staff was on vacation and budgets were tied up. But now, the clock is ticking down, the pressure is dialing up, and it’s a race to the finish. And let’s not forget, you have to figure out what to wear to the office Halloween party.
So, in light of all this stress, here is October’s poll question: What is the most stressful part of your job — and how do you deal with it?
Your number one source of stress could be anything: end users who refuse to follow policy, customers who expect you to work miracles, not having enough budget, not having enough staff, worrying about ransomware…and the list goes on.
Please share what stresses you out, and also what strategies, tactics, or hacks you use to manage the situation to the best of your ability. Your insights could help your fellow IT pros who are struggling with similar challenges.
