History is full of big battles. For example: the first battle between Jedi and Sith happened in 6900 BBY (before the Battle of Yavin).
Star Wars Break
Now, I know that you’re here to learn about the November poll. But as a Star Wars addict, I’m obligated by the rebel alliance to point out the following vital information:
The above-noted epic battle — also known as the Battle of the Death Star — was featured in A New Hope, which was the first Star Wars movie ever released in 1977, but was actually the fourth chapter. Why? I really don’t know. You’d have to ask George Lucas. Or Yoda.
Back to the Poll
Some battles don’t need to last for 6000 years to be considered epic, like the intense rivalry between Windows and Mac. And that brings us to the poll question this month: are you Windows or Mac — and why?
My Take
Ever since I plugged in my first computer, I’ve primarily been a Windows user. Frankly, PCs were a lot cheaper, and so was the software. Of course, Macs look beautiful — although I must admit that I’ve never been able to get used to the UI.
When I started working in the IT world, I assumed that most people would be using Windows. But that’s not the case! Many IT pros use Macs, and would fight with the strength of ten Yodas if they had to switch to Windows.
Share Your Point of View & Win
Simply by sharing your point of view on this clash of the OS titans, you’ll be automatically entered to WIN one of two $25 Amazon gift certificates. We’ll randomly select two participants and announce the winners next month, when we share the results and comments. Who knows, maybe you’ll persuade some of your fellow IT pros to switch sides!
Good luck, and may the force be with you.
