And that is why we are proud to welcome a new member of our outstanding Customer Service Team. Please welcome Vanessa Leblanc, Customer Service Specialist!
I recently had the chance to chat with Vanessa to learn more about her experience, her role here at Devolutions, and her hobbies. Here is a look at our conversation:
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
I studied marketing at UQTR, and then worked for five years in a non-profit organization that happened to be located just beside Devolutions’ head office. In that role, I was in charge of organizing various events for entrepreneurs and developing local projects to increase visibility for the city of Lavaltrie. It was a great opportunity to enhance my skills in administration, communications, and planning.
What would you say is your biggest achievement?
My biggest achievement is definitely organizing a golf tournament that was attended by more than 200 people. It was focused on raising funds and awareness for youth projects. And guess what?! I don’t even play golf! I was thrilled because that event required a lot of organizing, and it was a total success. Everyone was happy and had fun, and even the weather was great! In fact, Devolutions was one of the sponsors of that event, and they also sent a team over to play. I have so many good memories of that experience.
What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?
I knew Devolutions’ CEO David, and I heard great things about the company and how employees are well treated. Devolutions’ priority is to make employees happy so that they perform at their best. Also, I’m from Lavaltrie which is where Devolutions’ head office is located. It’s great to work where you have grown up.
What would you say are your top three strengths at work?
First, I would say that I’m a team player. I really think the best way to work is by combining people’s strengths. Like the proverb says: “Alone we go fast, together we go further.” Second, I adapt easily to new environments and challenges. And third, I have very strong organizational skills.
What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?
Currently, I’m working with our Inside Sales Team. My role includes providing our customers with answers and advice in a prompt, friendly, and professional way.
What is your impression of working here?
The working environment is the best that an employee can dream of! The management team really cares about our interests, and they want us to be happy. They offer us different conferences and webinars each month, we have snacks, a gym, and even a slush machine. Everyone is friendly and engaged.
What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?
I would like to continue growing professionally. Devolutions is known around the world, and there is so much for me to learn. I’m excited about evolving with the company.
On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?
I’ve played soccer since I was five years old. I love the team spirit it brings, and the self-discipline that it teaches. Also, a few years ago I discovered a huge passion for plants and flowers. I actually have 29 different kinds of plants at home!
