[New Employee Spotlight] Dany Galarneau, Software Developer

As you may recall, one of the traditions we really enjoy around here is introducing you to a team member each Monday in our “New Employee Spotlight.”

Well, we were happily enjoying this ritual, when something erupted and shut down our plans: COVID-19. Even though we remained fully operational during the pandemic and pivoted in a matter of days to a 100% remote workforce, we had to pause our expansion plans for obvious reasons.

Although the pandemic is far from over, there is cautious optimism in this part of the world that the worst-of-the-worst is behind us. That means things are s-l-o-w-l-y getting back to normal, and we can once again start to pick up where we left off.

And so, today I am delighted to re-ignite the New Employee Spotlight by introducing you to a great new member of our software development team: please give a warm welcome to Dany Galarneau!

Can you tell me a bit about your background?

I have always loved computers, and so I decided to study computer science in college. Before getting my degree, I worked as an intern here at Devolutions and loved the experience.

What would you say is your biggest achievement?

So far, my biggest achievements are the websites that I created in college, and all of the projects that I’ve worked on at Devolutions.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

A friend of mine that was already working here told me a lot of amazing things about Devolutions, and so I really wanted to be a part of this company.

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

I always want to learn new things to increase my knowledge, I am a fast learner, and I love working as part of a supportive team.

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?

As a software developer working on Password Hub Business and Devolutions Authenticator mobile applications, I add new features and resolve bugs. I mainly use Android studio and XCode with Flutter.

What is your impression of working here?

The people are awesome, and we are like a family. The work environment is great!

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

I want to increase my knowledge and help Devolutions to become even better than it is right now.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

I love watching and playing hockey. I also like to play video games.

Please share a few words with our community of IT pros:

I am proud to be part of this community and to work with all of you!

Laurence Cadieux

Hello! My name is Laurence Cadieux, and I’m a Communication Specialist here at Devolutions. My role includes overseeing the content strategy and development of our blog, managing the content and communication for our VIP advocate platform “Devolutions Force,” and working closely with our PR partners around the world. I also handle our off-site content opportunities (magazines, journals, newspapers, etc.). Academically, I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing. When I’m not working, I sing in a band, and I enjoy watching my favorite movies again and again. I also love cooking, and during the pandemic, I became a bread expert — I can now bake the most amazing key lime pie on earth (if I do say so myself!). Plus, I recently discovered LEGO and there is no turning back — I’m hooked! I’m always happy to help, and you can reach me directly at
