New Employee Spotlight: Anthony Nelson, QA Specialist

Hello Devolutions nation! It’s my pleasure once again to introduce you to a new member of our team. Please give a warm welcome to Anthony Nelson, QA Specialist!

I recently had the chance to chat with Anthony. Here’s a look at our conversation:

Can you tell me a bit about your background?

I have a diploma in IT Support. The program covered a wide range of subjects, including analyzing computer system architecture, managing access to network resources, troubleshooting, and providing end user support. It was very detailed and practical.

What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I’d say that my biggest achievement to date was when I went to college to study. I had to move far away from my home and family to do that. It was difficult at times, but I am glad that I was able to do it.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

For years I’ve heard great things about Devolutions from different people. Since I was looking for a role in QA and informatics, I knew it would be the perfect place for me!

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

First, I’d say that I’m patient. This is very important when doing QA work, because sometimes issues and problems are intermittent and require a lot of analysis. Second, I am very determined and will stay with a problem until it is solved. Third, I am focused and don’t get distracted or bored when I am doing my work. Sometimes I can spend hours working on something and it only feels like minutes!

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?

As a QA Specialist, my tasks include finding bugs, testing software, and generating reports for our developer team by creating tickets in JIRA.

What is your impression of working here?

I really like it! Everyone is very nice, and it’s a great work environment in general.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

My goal here is to be the best QA possible and gain a lot of experience. There is so much to learn, and every day is different.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

My main hobbies are video games and music. I also like MMA and poker.

Please share a few words with our community of IT pros:

I am here to help you control the IT chaos!

When I’m not working, I sing in a band, and I enjoy watching my favorite movies again and again. I also love cooking, and during the pandemic, I became a bread expert — I can now bake the most amazing key lime pie on earth (if I do say so myself!). Plus, I recently discovered LEGO and there is no turning back — I’m hooked! I’m always happy to help, and you can reach me directly at
