It’s the start of a new week, and some people have a “Case of the Mondays”. But around here, Mondays are great, because it’s an opportunity to meet another member of the Devolutions family. Today, I’m happy to introduce you to Phillipe Adolphe, our new Web Developer!
I recently had the chance to chat with Philippe to learn more about his experience and personality. Here’s a look at our conversation:
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
Sure! I received my diploma of college studies in accounting and management technology, and then studied computer science in university. There is a growing need for programmers, and I knew it would be a valuable skill to have. Everyone needs help with their software.
What would you say is your biggest achievement?
It’s hard for me to pick one specific achievement. Instead, I would say that in everything I do — whether it’s for my employer, my family or my friends — my goal is to earn their trust and make them know they can count on me no matter what.
What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?
I would say the environment. I’ve been programming on my own for a while, and last year I worked with a partner and found the experience really fun and instructive. So I wanted to join an IT team that had a really great vibe, and that is definitely the case here at Devolutions.
What would you say are your top three strengths at work?
First, I learn new things very quickly, including unexpected stuff that comes up. Second, I am a really good team member and support my colleagues professionally and personally. Third, I am always focused on getting the job done and making customers happy.
What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?
Right now, I’m part of the team that develops internal tools for all of our employees. We are using Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code and WebStorm. When you’re not doing your job correctly, you end up with Notepad!
What is your impression of working here?
I can see that the management team here cares a lot about the employees. You don’t feel like a number, and that’s really cool. The ambiance, the people, the environment — all the ingredients are here that make it a great place to work, and somewhere that you can give 110 percent.
What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?
I would like to improve my programming skills and knowledge, and to learn more about technology so that I can help my colleagues and our customers as much as possible.
On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?
One of my biggest interests is renewable energy, like water and electricity. I am also really interested in everything about growing your own food at home.
