With spring arriving in only a couple of weeks, we’re all excited around here for the grass to grow, for the flowers to blossom, for the birds to sing, and of course: to dive into Remote Desktop Manager Enterprise 2019.1! RDM 2019.1 is currently in Beta if you want to try the new features right away you can download it here .

Today, I thought it would be fun to take a closer look at some of the new features that Remote Desktop Manager Enterprise 2019.1 will have (and I’ll highlight some of the improved features in an upcoming blog).

New Session Recording

You can now record RDP, SSH, VNC, ARD and Wayk Now sessions when you launch them from Remote Desktop Manager. This is ideal if you need to show your boss or customer what was done during a session. What if you need session recording for auditing or PAM purposes? We’re already working on that and should have some news to share in the near future.

New Smart Folders

You can now easily create smart folders in Remote Desktop Manager. These are self-updating folders that perform a search based on the criteria you configure. For example, you can create a Smart Folder search for all of your RDP sessions. Whenever a new RDP session is added to your repository, your search will automatically update itself. Think of it like an interactive folder.

New Add-On Access in GIT

I know many of you have been eagerly awaiting this feature. You can now access all — and I mean ALL — of the add-ons supported in Remote Desktop Manager directly in GIT! For those of you who don’t know, GIT is a free and open-source distributed version control system that can be shared and accessed by anyone. So go ahead – get your GIT on!

More to Come!

These are just some of the exciting new features. Next week, I’ll take a closer look at the improved features you’ll find in Remote Desktop Manager 2019.1. And in the coming weeks, I’ll be taking a deeper dive into session recording and smart folders. Stay tuned!
