Hello everyone,

Today, the tradition continues as I introduce you to the newest member of our Development Team: please give a warm Devolutions welcome to Nathan Lachance!

Nathan is working on one of our newest products, Devolutions Password Hub, which our CEO David briefly outlined in his 2019 Road Map. Also, Nathan is not just an IT Pro — he is a gaming pro and a geek pro. Which means he’ll fit in here for sure. Here’s a snapshot of my interview with him:

Can you tell me a bit about your background?

I was always a techno boy, whether in video games, IT, or even electronic things. This led me to complete my college diploma in computer science at the Cégep de Lanaudière à Joliette. Even though IT has always been my passion, getting my diploma in the IT field was a risk. Although I was somewhat familiar with programming, I wasn’t sure it should be my full-time profession. Fortunately, my instincts turned out to be right!

After three years of college and learning many new skills, I didn’t feel that I was ready to dive into the corporate world. So I applied to the computer science program at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières and took some courses in web programming and development.

After graduation, with all of my tools and background, I started to work at a web agency where I added a great deal to my knowledge and understanding. Being a quick learner really helped me there, because it was a very fast-paced environment. After a while, I felt that I needed to find a new challenge to further develop my skills, and that is what led me to Devolutions.

What would you say is your biggest achievement?

I would say that my biggest achievement was earning my degree in computer science, and finding a rewarding and challenging job in a field that motivates me to keep learning and growing.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

I had heard several positive comments about Devolutions from many people, and it all seemed to align with what I was looking for, which was a challenging, fun and transparent work environment.

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

First, I would say that I’m fun to work with and I enjoy socializing with my colleagues. Second, I am a good teammate and am always willing to help. Third, I have high integrity, and always stay true to my principles and values.

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?

Currently, my main task is to develop web applications using Angular JS. In terms of tools, I mostly use WebStorm, Visual Studio, SQL Server Management Studio and Chrome.

What is your impression of working here?

The people are great, friendly and funny. Also, the work environment is very modern and clean. This is the kind of place that I’m happy to go to in the morning.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

My key goal is to improve our great products. My secondary goal is to continue learning about new tools, and to increase my skills and knowledge.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

I’m a movie maniac and a power geek. I’m also a PC and console gamer. I love good food and experimenting new kinds.

Please share a few words with our community of IT pros:

I am happy to be here, and I looking forward to working hard to improve the Devolutions products that you use every day.
