It’s my pleasure to introduce you to our new web integrator, Eugene Bernard! As Eugene works closely with our marketing team, I’ve already learned that we have a shared interest in manga and anime — I think he’s seen and read everything! I have a long way to go before I catch up. To help you get to know Eugene a little better, here’s a snapshot of our conversation:
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
After developing an interest in programming around the age of 12, I moved to Lavaltrie, finished high school, and went to college where I studied programming for 3 years.
What would you say is your biggest achievement?
I’d say that my biggest achievement so far was finishing college. I’m also proud to have gotten a job here at Devolutions. Many people want to work here!
What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?
Many of my college professors had very positive things to say about Devolutions. While I was still a student, I did some research on Devolutions as part of a group project, and during that experience I interviewed the company’s founder and CEO David Hervieux. He was very friendly and open, and after seeing the environment I knew I wanted to work here. I applied for an internship, but didn’t get it. However, I never forgot about Devolutions, and so I applied for a job after I finished college. I was thrilled when they offered me a chance to work as a web integrator, which might be one of my favorite technologies to work with.
What would you say are your top three strengths at work?
I would say that my curiosity, perseverance and passion for programming are my greatest strengths.
What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?
What is your impression of working here?
I love working here because everyone is friendly, which makes the work environment great.
What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?
I would like to carry out all of my tasks to the best of my ability and continue learning more so that I can deepen my knowledge of current software technologies.
On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?
When I’m not working, I play a lot of video games, watch anime and read manga. Even though I’m new, I’m probably the biggest weeb in the company!
