We’ve been so busy around here with major updates to Devolutions Password Server and Remote Desktop Manager, that we haven’t had a chance to shine the new employee spotlight on the recent additions to our team. Well, it’s my pleasure to change that by introducing you to our great new IT technician, Nicolas Leone Mailhot!
Do you know the IT guru at work (and you may actually be that person!) who doesn’t just solve customer problems, but is also the one that employees go to when they can’t figure something out with their machines or devices? Well, around here Nicolas is that guy. If he doesn’t know how to fix something (and he usually does), then he knows how to find out. He’s like the IT Whisperer.
Recently, I had the chance to chat with Nicolas to learn more about his background and experience — and I was thrilled to learn that he loves many of the same things that we do around here, like board games, video games, and beer! Here’s a look at our conversation:
Can you tell me a bit about your background?
I have a degree in electronics with a specialization in computers and networking. I also spent two years repairing and servicing cellphones.
What would you say is your biggest achievement?
Finishing my degree is something I’m very proud of. I also developed some policies and strategies in previous jobs that helped improve workflow and increase production.
What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?
Some of my friends work here, and they’ve been telling me for a while that it’s an amazing place. I was also interested in joining a company where I would have the opportunity to not just solve problems but be part of improvements and innovations.
What would you say are your top three strengths at work?
I learn fast, I’m open minded, and I want to help people by listening to their needs and responding accordingly. No doubt, I will be using all of these strengths in my role here at Devolutions.
What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?
Essentially, my job is to ensure that everyone’s devices and tools work properly. I mainly use Devolutions’ own tools, since I need to monitor and manage the network.
What is your impression of working here?
Everyone is friendly and happy to be here, and has given me a warm welcome!
What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?
My primary goal is to help Devolutions improve, so that we can continue growing.
On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy video games, board games and good craft beer.
Please share a few words with our community of IT pros:
I’m glad to be here, and I will be ready to help when you need me!
