New Employee Spotlight: Gabriel Degrandpré, Service Desk Agent

Hello everyone,

Today I’m thrilled to introduce you to a new member of our support team. Please give a warm welcome to Gabriel Degrandpré, our new Service Desk Agent!

Gabriel joins a dedicated crew of Support Specialists whose mission is to solve all of your challenges (by which I mean Devolutions-related challenges — unfortunately, Gabriel can’t improve your Fortnite performance or fix the office printer).

Recently, I had the pleasure of chatting with Gabriel to learn more about his background, goals, hobbies and interests. **Here is a snapshot of our conversation: **

Can you tell me a bit about your background?

I’ve been playing video games since I was a child, and I’ve had an interest in computers and technology for almost as long. That interest inspired me to study IT at the Centre de formation professionnelle des Riverains.

What would you say is your biggest achievement?

While I was a student, I took a programming class and together with two of my fellow students we created a 2D game in Unity. Even though it was small and a bit rudimentary, I’m really proud of what we achieved in such a short timeframe.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

A couple friends of mine who work here kept telling me that the work culture is great, and the people are friendly and supportive. Now that I work here too, I can confirm that what they said is true!

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

First, I love learning new things and understanding how things work. I’m really driven to stay up-to-date on the latest IT products, trends and technology in general. Second, I’m very patient and persistent, and I don’t mind working hard to resolve issues. Third, I consider myself to be a good team member. I like to help and don’t mind taking criticism if I can learn and improve from it.

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools you use?

My job is to provide our customers with the best possible support, and to remain informed about our products and services.

What is your impression of working here?

I consider myself lucky to work here. The work environment is stimulating, and it is the perfect combination of professional and laid back.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

I want to learn as much as possible and to constantly improve.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

Most of my free time is spent either playing video games, working on my own video game, or participating in role playing games like Dungeons and Dragons. Besides that, I really like music — especially from musicals — and I also like to cook.

Hello there! My name is Derick St-Hilaire, and I’m the Salesforce Administrator here at Devolutions. I’m one of the more experienced employees here at Devolutions, and it has been amazing to see the company and community grow over the years. My primary responsibilities include managing our Salesforce platform, and working closely with our strategic partners and customers. I also oversee the management of Devolutions Force, which is our VIP Advocate Community. Academically, I have a bachelor’s degree in marketing. When I’m not working, I enjoy camping, walking my dog, playing video games, and I’m a huge movie fan — including the Star Wars franchise of course.
