On Thursday, November 22, millions of people across the U.S. — as well as Americans living or traveling around the world — will celebrate Thanksgiving. It’s a special day that usually involves a lot of eating and drinking, a lot of watching TV (did someone say Dr. Who marathon?), and of course, a lot of gratitude for the things in life that matter most.

Well, here at Devolutions, together with our fellow Canadians, we celebrated Thanksgiving back in October. But that doesn’t mean that we limit our gratitude to just one day. As the artist Henri Matisse once beautifully said: “There are always flowers for those who want to see them”.

When we look around us, we don’t just see a flower here and there — we see a massive garden of gratitude! And so, in homage to our American friends, here are just a few of the many things that we at Devolutions are thankful for:

1.     YOU

Yes, we know all companies say that “customers are our number one priority” and “we love our customers”. But here at Devolutions, this is not just a saying or a slogan. It’s built into our DNA. We have grown a great deal in the last decade, and our footprint has spread across the globe. But we have never forgotten — and will never lose sight of — the fundamental truth that we exist to serve YOU and solve YOUR problems. We never take your loyalty for granted, and we will always strive to earn your trust and respect.

So thank you for letting us into your lives, and for being part of our story. We are especially grateful to those of you who give us your feedback and who participate in our beta launches. We are always listening to you!

2.     Each Other

If you ever have the chance to visit us, you’ll sense something special and uplifting the moment you step into our office. It’s hard to describe, but it’s easy to feel. Essentially, it arises when diverse people, who have various jobs and perform different tasks, are all part of the same vision and mission. It’s a kind of harmony and cohesiveness that doesn’t just make a big difference in the day-to-day work experience, but it makes ALL the difference!

And so, we would like to thank our amazing team for their hard work, commitment, and collaborative spirit. Whether one of us works on the back end or the front lines, we all know that we are in this together, and that we succeed as a high-performance team or not at all! (Well, unless we are in pursuit of the glorious DEVOLUTIONS CUP, in which case it’s every foosball team for themselves!)

3.     Our Community

It should come as no surprise that our customers are a big part of our community, and it’s our privilege to engage them in various ways, and through multiple channels — including here in our blog, in our forum, on social media, and so on.

But you may be surprised to learn that many of the professionals who connect with us aren’t customers. They’re IT pros, risk managers, developers, sales engineers, marketing specialists, and many others who watch videos, read articles, participate in poll questions, read the latest hilarious Sysadminotaur comic, and so on.

And so, to everyone in our community — including but certainly not limited to our customers — we would like to say a big thank you. We are always working on fresh new content to keep you informed — and to put a smile on your face every now and then.

4.     Our Strategic Partners

We are very proud of and grateful for our outstanding strategic partnerships with organizations, associations and channel partners around the world. In addition to extending our reach and supporting our growth, our partners constantly provide us with invaluable insights and advice regarding trends, marketplace dynamics, best practices, and so on.

An Attitude of Gratitude

The famous sales guru and motivational speaker Zig Ziglar once said: “Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.”

At Devolutions, we have so much to be thankful for, including our customers, each other, our community, and our strategic partners. Our attitude of gratitude gives us confidence and fills us with pride, but it also keeps us humble and hungry — and we wouldn’t want it any other way.

Happy Thanksgiving to EVERYONE, regardless where you call home, and whether you’ll be working, feasting or maybe even creating a theme park!
