New Employee Spotlight: Isabel Desrochers, Graphic Designer

Isabel Desrochers Interview

Hello everyone!

Our tradition of introducing you to a wonderful new team member each Monday continues. This week, the spotlight shines on our talented new Graphic Designer, Isabel Desrochers.

In addition to being creative and skilled, Isabel is very active in the community. Plus, she has two young kids! I really admire her motivation, and am sure she can teach me a few things about time management. Here’s some more information about Isabel that I learned during our recent chat:

Can you tell me a bit about your background?

I’ve always been passionate about art, and developed an interest in graphic design in high school while studying computer drawing. That’s what led me to a graphic design career.

Since finishing college, I’ve worked as a graphic designer for several companies and gained experience in related fields such as marketing and project management. During the last 15 years, I learned many new aspects of graphic design in different business contexts. I’ve also developed a wide network that allowed me to become a freelancer. That’s what I was doing for the last two years prior to joining Devolutions.

What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?

I’ve really proud of my two kids who are, in their own way, as creative as their mother!

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

I had often heard about Devolutions. I knew it was a company with an inspiring philosophy. David Hervieux is a passionate entrepreneur with impressive values. Devolutions also offers a motivating work environment. Working for Devolutions is like a dream come true!

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

I’m passionate about my work, efficient and creative.

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools that you use?

I create documents and other visual content for our support department. I use software like InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop and PowerPoint.

What is your impression of working here?

Devolutions’ employees are passionate. They’re real experts in their respective fields and it’s awesome to work in the same environment with them. People are nice to each other, also always willing to help. I'm very lucky to work here.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

I want to continue to evolve personally and professionally. Design is my passion, and I want to use my skills and experience to meet the graphic design needs of Devolutions.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

As a mother of two kids, my hobbies are mainly related to my family. My kids are still young, and their respective sports keep me pretty busy! I have some time left to be involved in my community as a member of the Crabtree Development Committee, and a member of the board of directors Crabtree BMX Club Board.
