Our iOS Development Team is growing (again!), and today it’s my pleasure to introduce you to my great new colleague, Samuel Baker.  I recently had a chat with Samuel to learn more about his experience and role. Here’s a look at our conversation:

Can you tell me a bit about your professional background?

I’ve been interested in computers for years and recently completed my Computer Science degree  in Joliette.

What would you say is your biggest achievement so far?

Completing my degree was the toughest thing I’ve managed to do so far, and it’s what I’m most proud of as well.

What was it about Devolutions that made you want to work here?

I was fortunate to do my internship here at Devolutions, and the experience was amazing! The work environment is great. Everyone is smart and works hard, but they’re friendly as well. I made some good friends during my internship and was thrilled when I was asked to join the team after finishing my degree.

What would you say are your top three strengths at work?

I’d say that my top strength is team work. I’d also say that I’m big on clean work, which means making sure my work is really efficient and streamlined. And I guess my third strength is work work, in the sense that I work very hard!

What tasks do you carry out in your job, and what are some of the tools that you use?

Currently, my focus is on integrating Mac features into the iOS version of RDM. I mostly work in C# using Xamarin Studio.

What is your impression of working here so far?

As I experienced during my internship, the environment is very friendly, relaxed and supportive. The people are amazing, and the location is great as well. It really doesn’t get much better than this, and I feel lucky to be here.

What goals would you like to achieve at Devolutions?

As a new developer, I want to learn as much as possible about software development and help my team succeed.

On a personal note, what are some of your hobbies and interests?

I like music a lot and I’m also a gamer. I’m also really into speedruns, and run a few games myself. And of course, I’m very interested in programming.

Please share a few words with our community of IT pros:

I’m a proud member of the Devolutions team, and we’ll hopefully have a great time together making the industry a better place for everyone!
