Ah, summer is almost officially here…the flowers and grass outside are growing fast – but life inside Devolutions is growing even faster, because we’ve hired a wonderful new web developer! Please say hello to Martin Lasalle, who I recently chatted with. My questions are in bold followed by Martin’s answers.

Can you tell me a bit about your professional background?

I’ve worked in many different industries as a programmer analyst and a team leader.

What were your first impressions of working at Devolutions?

I find that the people here are really open-minded and authentic. I also like that, even though I have a lot of experience in IT, there is always something new to learn each day.

What does your job involve? What tools do you use?

Currently, I’m working on the self-hosted repository for Devolutions Server. I mainly use Visual Studio in my work.

What are some of your hobbies?

I’m a very active guy! Ask anyone of my teammates, as I always have stories to tell on Monday morning after a while weekend. I’ve been a member of the Canadian Ski Patrol for the past 15 years, and I really love it. I’m also an experienced diver, and am hoping to become a Rescue Diver next year, and then a Dive Master.  I also practice reflexology, which is an alternative medicine that involves the application of pressure to the feet and hands. And during summer, I enjoy camping with friends and family.

What invention do you wish you had created?

I think I would have to say the heart defibrillator.

Please share a few words with our community of IT pros:

Stay tuned for the new version of Devolutions Server coming up – I think you’re going to love it!
